Cyndi Lauper learns through experiences

Cyndi Lauper says having no qualifications makes her "most qualified".
The ‘Girls Just Want To Have Fun’ hitmaker insists she learns better through experiences rather than formal training.
She said: "I believe I have no qualifications, and that’s what makes me most qualified. There’s less nervousness when you just go about doing something new. It makes it easier for me to learn. I’m not one of those people that learn well in a formal setting, but put me in the middle of something and I am pretty good on my feet …
"I am hard-working, passionate, compassionate, can be self-centred, try not to be self-centred, and a live-life-to-the-fullest kind of person."
And the 62-year-old singer – who has 18-year-old son Declyn with her husband David Thornton – also revealed the people she loves are far more important to her than her most worldly possessions.
Asked about her favourite item, she added to Mojo magazine: "I try not to become too attached to possessions, because they can get lost and broken. People I love are much more important than possessions."
Meanwhile, Cyndi previously revealed she wants her life to be filled with disappointment because it makes the success "all the sweeter".
She shared: "My mother told me and my brother and my sister from a very young age that you stand up for those you love and for what you believe is right. If you don’t, then you’re really not living life the way you should, particularly when standing up for someone who needs it, when it’s most the popular thing to do. It’s made me a better person and I am grateful for that lesson.
"Life is way better when you stand up for what and who you believe in. I think every life has to have disappointments because disappointments make success all the sweeter … I come from a line of people who are steel and grit – Particularly the women in my family. So I learned early that if you get knocked down, you get back up again."
