Crissy Rock jokes she wouldn’t ‘go on a dinghy’ after coronavirus cruise hell

Crissy Rock has joked she wouldn’t even "go on a dinghy" after her honeymoon cruise was ruined by the coronavirus.
The ‘Benidorm’ actress and her husband Julian Buck were quarantined on the Queen Mary 2 as operator Cunard confirmed the liner would have to skip scheduled stops – including Hong Kong, Singapore and Phuket – because of fears over the outbreak of the deadly virus, which originated from Wuhan in China last year and has infected over 71,000, killing more than 2,000 people.
Speaking to ITV’s ‘Good Morning Britain’, she quipped: "I’d be dubious to go on a dinghy after this!"
The 61-year-old star admitted while the situation itself was "terrifying", the passengers on board were kept safe.
She explained: "It was terrifying, not terrified – I don’t wanna get that word mixed up.
"It was terrifying to think how close you were to where the virus was, but you cannot call Cunard – because Cunard’s main priority was to keep everyone on the ship safe, we were all fed and watered.
"We were treated fabulous. (sic)"
Despite that, Crissy joked there was still some apprehension amongst their fellow passengers.
She laughed: "Anyone that coughed or sneezed or even passed wind, everyone was going, ‘Ooh!’ "
In a statement, Cunard previously acknowledged how "disappointing" the situation was for those on board as they had to detour to Australia with passengers unable to leave.
The company said: "We are working around the clock with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the World Health Organisation (WHO) and Public Health England to implement control measures for our ships.
"Due to this, we’ve had to make changes (though we appreciate this is disappointing, but unfortunately vital) to the itinerary."
