Crimewatch Roadshow Live returns to BBC One for a new series

‘Crimewatch Roadshow Live’ is returning to BBC One for a new series.

The show will be back on September 7, with former detective Rav Wilding and Michelle Ackerley joined by a new co-host, former South Wales police officer John Paul Davies, who will be reporting from across the UK about the latest issues in law enforcement.

The trio will appeal to the public in a bid to help tackle everyday crime and to solve some of the UK’s biggest unsolved cases. The programme will also show some of the latest crime-fighting science and techniques.

Rav, 42, said: "I’m so pleased to be bringing back a new series of ‘Crimewatch Roadshow Live’.

"It’s been an extremely challenging time for police and emergency teams during the pandemic and through lockdown, so any information our viewers can offer to help police investigations is more crucial than ever.

"It’s also hugely important to me to be able to remind people watching at home that police are more than just their uniforms – and to celebrate the heart-warming tales of officers going above and beyond the call of duty in these difficult circumstances."

Earlier this year, Rav revealed he was returning to the frontline to help battle the coronavirus pandemic.

He wrote on Instagram: "This is a time when we must come together collectively, and have all hands on deck. Each and everyone of us has a part to play in this war against an enemy we can’t see. That’s why when a call to arms came out, I stepped forward and answered that call.

"I’m therefore proud to announce that exactly 20 years after first joining up, I am returning to the @metpolice_uk to help in this effort. (sic)"
