Craig David wants permanent Love Island role

Craig David wants to become a permanent fixture on ‘Love Island’.
The 38-year-old singer previously made a cameo appearance on the ITV show, and Craig has admitted he is eager to return to the programme.
Speaking to the Daily Star newspaper, Craig – who threw a TS5 pool party on ‘Love Island’ – said: "If they want me to DJ a TS5 set, I’m there. I’ll be a regular – put me on. I’ll always put on a pool party when they need me."
The chart-topping star revealed he loved making his cameo appearance on the show.
He explained: "It’s the most flattering thing – to go out there and see them run down the steps with excitement.
"It was a proper pool party, too. I played a 40-minute set. Over the years, I appreciate the love and the reaction more and more.
"The chart positions and awards are all amazing, but when you see that face light up – I live for it."
Meanwhile, Craig revealed that his new single, ‘Do You Miss Me Much’, is a nod to the UK garage sound that made him famous in the 90s and early 2000s.
He shared: "It’s always been close to my heart, has garage music, but there were periods of time when it wasn’t right to use that sound.
"It’s important that it wasn’t just seen as a throwback. Now I’m seeing DJs, particularly when I do my Ibiza Rocks residency, playing garage records and seeing a young crowd relating to it, new stuff by newer, younger artists.
"I’d been working on this tune and felt like I wanted to drop it like it’s yesterday and now I think people are ready – it feels current and it has nostalgia in the lyrics."
