Corrie’s Sophie to romance lesbian cougar

Coronation Street’s Sophie Webster is to embark on a relationship with a lesbian cougar.
The Weatherfield resident (Brooke Vincent) was left devastated earlier this year when she was dumped by Kate Connor (Faye Brookes), but looks set to get up close and personal with one of her mum Sally Metcalfe’s (Sally Dynevor) old pals after she calls in a favour when she accidental gives council cash to a fraudster.
A ‘Coronation Street’ source said: "Sophie hasn’t had much luck with romance on the cobbles but it appears this time it’s finally going in the right direction for her.
"She allows herself to start falling in love with the lawyer."
Despite Sally being pleased her lawyer pal is coming to her aid, she will be left "livid" that the attorney starts romancing Sophie.
The source added to The Sun’s Bizarre TV column: "But Sally is furious when her friend tells her she has feelings for her daughter.
"She’s livid about the age gap and brands her friend a cradle-snatcher."
Since coming out, Sophie has embarked on relationships with Sian Powers (Sacha Parkinson) and Maddie Heath (Amy James-Kelly).
Sophie was set to marry Sian but stumbled while making her vows on their big day and then confessed to Sian she couldn’t marry her, just days after a drunken kiss with pal Amber Kalirai (Nikki Patel). A disappointed Sian later fled Weatherfield, much to Sophie’s devastation.
She suffered further disappointment years later when her girlfriend Maddie was killed after being caught up in an explosion at the builder’s yard.
The drama occurred shortly after Maddie had caught Jenny Bradley (Sally Ann Matthews) trying to kidnap Sophie’s dad Kevin Webster’s (Michael Le Vell) son Jack.
