Corrie fans to discover more about Tim Metcalfe

‘Coronation Street’ fans are set to find out more about Tim Metcalfe’s past.
Former window cleaner and Street Cars co-owner Tim will see his marriage to Sally (Sally Dynevor) tested as she intervenes to stop his abusive father Geoff from hurting his wife Yasmeen Nazir and as viewers discover more about Geoff’s past, they will also discover some secrets about Tim.
Producer Iain MacLeod told Digital Spy: "There’ll be a lot of interesting exploration into Geoff’s back-story, which will obviously lead to a lot of interesting exploration of Tim’s back-story too.
"Tim (Joe Duttine) is very well-loved by the audience, so it’s a good opportunity for us to find out more about him and why he’s become the man that he is. We’ll discover a bit more about his family background.
"There’s a lot of family saga stuff to come, as a result of the things that the police and everybody else starts to discover about Geoff’s past."
Meanwhile, Iain insisted that there will be no redemptive arc for Geoff, explaining it would send a "dangerous message".
He told Radio Times: "Typically, abusers of this type do not get better and I think it would be, possibly, a dangerous message to send that these people change.
"I don’t want to give any real abusers out there in the world the opportunity to go ‘look at Geoff, he’s managed to turn his life around’ so no, I don’t think we’ll be seeing any redemption for Geoff."
