Coronation Street’s Sarah Platt to battle psychosis?

‘Coronation Street’s Sarah Platt’s mental health is set to plummet over the coming weeks as she battles with crippling psychosis.
The second-time mother – portrayed by Tina O’Brien – will be struck down with a form of the rare condition, which affects some women after they give birth, as she’s plagued with distressing flashbacks and begins to believe her ex-boyfriend Callum Logan (Sean Ward), who was brutally murdered last year, is still alive and out to get her.
Speaking to Inside Soap magazine, Tina explained: "I’m excited about Sarah’s story because it will really push me. She has been through a nightmare six months with what happened to Callum and having to cover it up. It could become a form of psychosis because of everything that’s gone on. But, right now, it’s centred on Sarah’s anxiety and worries about the future. I think, with Sarah, her head will start playing more tricks on her as time goes on. She’ll have delusions and flashbacks to what she witnessed. I think it will be the hardest thing I’ve ever done on screen.
"These images she’s getting of him are very much in her head, but it seems like he’s still there and alive to Sarah."
Sarah’s mental health has been heading in a downward spiral over the past six months since she witnessed her sister-in-law Kylie Platt (Paula Lane) smash the bad boy drug dealer over the head and then bury his lifeless body under Gail McIntyre’s (Helen Worth) granny annex.
Things took a turn for the worse when Sarah welcomed her baby son Harry – whose father is Callum – but it’s set to get even harder this week when the emotional mother is convinced her tot is the reincarnation of her abusive ex.
