Coronation Street’s Kylie Platt’s death will be ‘shocking’

Paula Lane has teased her character’s death will be one of the "most shocking" in the history of ‘Coronation Street’.
The 30-year-old actress has warned viewers to get their tissues at the ready as her alter-ego Kylie Platt will see her tragic end just as she gets her life back on track but, although fans will be heartbroken to see the bossy mother pass away, they will be left guessing how she actually met her fate.
She explained: "Kylie’s death is going to be one of the most shocking in ‘Corrie’ history. People will know Kylie dies but not how she dies. That’s going to be a surprise."
The brunette beauty is devastated bosses have decided to kill off Kylie, who she has portrayed for six years, but always knew there was a chance they’d take that approach when she announced she was bowing out of the soap back in February.
Speaking to Inside Soap magazine, she said: "It’s going to be gut-wrenching and I’ll be in tears. I knew there was a possibility that they would kill Kylie off. When you say you are going, they can do what they want with the character. They were going for a high-impact exit, and I’m happy with what they have come up with. I want to leave viewers wanting more."
Paula decided to turn her back on the show after she fell pregnant with her second child and is now keen to spend some valuable time with her family before getting back into work.
She said at the time: "Sometimes you just have to follow your heart and I am excited about what the future has to offer both personally and professionally."
