‘Coronation Street’s Emma Brooker to collapse

‘Coronation Street’s Emma Brooker is to collapse, leading to fears she has inherited an illness from her grandfather.
It has recently been revealed that Emma – played by Alexandra Mardell – is Steve McDonald’s biological child following his romance with Fiona Middleton, but there are now health fears for Emma.
Emma is at work when she complains of feeling unwell and in pain so Maria suggests they go to the health centre.
However, before they can get there, the pain gets so much that she collapses to be found by Gary Windass on the cobbles.
It sparks fears Emma could have Jim McDonald’s illness – myotonic dystrophy, which results in muscle loss and weakness.
A source told The Sun Online: "Emma’s not going to understand what’s wrong with her but her dad Steve knows only too well what it could be.
"Jim’s illness skipped a generation with Steve but the possibility of it affecting Emma is almost too much to contemplate. It’s going to be a really harrowing time for the McDonalds if it’s what caused Emma’s collapse."
Meanwhile, Angela Griffin – who played Fiona in the ITV soap – recently hinted she could be making an appearance as she has "unfinished business" in Weatherfield.
She said: "I think there is in terms that she (Emma) is my daughter and there’s unfinished business with Steve, obviously. But there’s no plans at the moment. I think they are just going to let that storyline play out and see what happens."
When asked if there could be a showdown on the cards with Steve in the future, she answered: "I’d love to film that. He’s got Tracy (Kate Ford), if anything I think the story would be Tracey, Steve and Fiona in a little triangle. We’ll see. It will always be a pop in and pop out."
