Coronation Street’s Chesney to find love with Emma?

Coronation Street’s Chesney Brown could be set to find love with Emma Brooker – when she steps in to be his last-minute date.
The father-of-one – played by Sam Aston – will finally ask Gemma Winter (Dolly-Rose Campbell) out on a date next week but she gets the wrong end of the stick thinking he means as friends, so he is shocked when the bubbly barmaid rocks up for their evening out with her 6ft 4inch pal Spike.
Fortunately for Ches, Emma (Alexandra Mardell) pretends to accompany him on the evening, and Sam admits the pair couldn’t stop laughing while shooting the scene.
He said: "It was great fun because it’s nice to do it all and have a go at the different storylines. When you get the giggles it’s really hard to shake them off because it becomes this big thing but you just need to let it out.
"Alexandra is really cool. She plays this fun, bubbly character and she is a very nice girl in real life. We get on really well."
While things went well for Sam, his alter-ego will not be so fortunate when he takes a dislike to Spike.
He added: "It’s so awkward and Emma is really hamming it up so Chesney is dying inside.
"Chesney is jealous of Spike but he also takes an instant dislike to Spike because he is rude. The whole thing is a nightmare for Chesney!"
While Emma could be a new love for Chesney, Sam has hinted his character and Gemma could still hook up.
When asked if he thinks Gemma and Chesney would work well together, the 25-year-old actor replied: "I do think they would be good together and they say opposites attract and they are very opposites, they are like chalk and cheese.
"But they work great as friends as well so we will see."
