Coronation Street hire Fast and Furious stunt woman

‘Coronation Street’ hired a ‘Fast & Furious’ stunt woman to help Kym Marsh shoot "stressful" car chase scenes.
Zarene Dallas – who has worked on ‘Skyfall’, ‘Fast & Furious 6’ and ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ – was enlisted to help Kym, who plays Michelle Connor, film an upcoming car crash stunt, following a dramatic chase involving her alter-ego and gangster Ronan Truman (Alan McKenna).
Kym told BANG Showbiz: "It was pretty intense. We were on location for quite a few days, which made it feel a bit more film-y.
"We had a stunt team on site, and it was tiring because there were long days and we were outdoors, and it kept raining on us. It was a bit exhausting.
"For me, my throat was so sore by the end of it. It was good fun though.
"We walked the stunt through on the road and then got into the car.
"Zarene was cramped up in the back of the car. When you see it you’d never know she was there. She was great, she was really good. She made me feel quite safe.
"I did still find it quite stressful, but it was good."
The car chase scenes will see Ronan try to run Michelle off the road, and Kym found it "stressful" attempting to drive, talk and perform various manoeuvres at the same time – which was ideal for how Michelle needed to come across during the takes.
She added: "I had to do the driving, the manoeuvres and there was also a lot of dialogue, so it was like patting my head and rubbing my stomach trying to do everything at once.
"I actually found it quite stressful, which was quite good because Michelle was supposed to be stressed in the scene anyway.
"It was good, because it was something new."
Ronan aims to take revenge after his son Cormac Truman (Joe Mallalieu) died of a drug overdose in Michelle’s flat – and ‘Corrie’ have confirmed one character will be killed off following the smash.
