The 23-year-old singer is heavily influenced by a number of current artists, and is particularly impressed by "unbelievable" Frank Ocean and wants to adopt his stance of doing "what he wants".
Speaking exclusively to BANG Showbiz, he shared: "I love the Weeknd and Drake. I think their stuff is really really cool.
"I think Frank Ocean is unbelievable, I think with him he doesn’t care what’s going on, he just does what he wants and I think that’s what I really want to do; I just want to fall into what’s happening now."
The ‘Vegas Girl’ singer is currently working in the studio with various artists, who he revealed are "on the same level" as his ‘Turn Around’ collaborator Ne-Yo.
He shared: "They are on the same level as Ne-Yo – I think Ne-Yo is obviously a huge boss, but yeah they’re on a similar level, they are predominantly from America as well."
Conor is currently busy recording guest vocals for a number of other artists, but is looking forward to then getting on with hi own new material.
He said: "I’m doing a load of features and then straight after that I will use that as a momentum to release my own original stuff, all the online stuff is kind of where it’s at right now."
And the ‘Can’t Say No’ hitmaker promised his new music will be more "raw" than his 2012 debut LP ‘Contrast’.
When asked what fans could expect from his upcoming tracks, he shared: "I’d say a little bit more rawness. I’ve been through a lot more now, I was 19 when on my first album and I’ll be 24 with this album".
