Connor McIntyre: Phelan should take over the Rovers Return

Connor McIntyre would love his ‘Coronation Street’ character Pat Phelan to take over the Rovers Return pub.
The actor has returned to the ITV soap as his villainous alter ego to wreak havoc on the residents of Weatherfield and Connor thinks it would be a great storyline if Phelan tried to get his hands on the famous pub.
Speaking to Inside Soap magazine, Connor said: "I think Phelan’s got Jason’s building company in his sights, but if it were me being mischievous, the jewel in the crown has got to be the Rovers!"
During his first stint in the show, Phelan attempted to destroy the Windass family and blackmailed Anna Windass (Debbie Rush) into having sex with him.
Since coming back to the cobbles, Phelan has turned his romantic attention to Eileen Grimshaw (Sue Cleaver) and his business sights to her son Jason Grimshaw (Ryan Thomas).
Connor thinks he and Eileen’s other son Todd Grimshaw – played by Bruno Langley – could make a great devious double act on ‘Corrie’.
He said: "A lot of people have told me that Tracy (Barlow) would make a nice double-act, but actually I think that Phelan and Todd’s good at scheming, too. and I think in some respects he could be a younger version of Phelan!
"So while Tracy would be the obvious choice. I think Todd could be a real contender."
