Coldplay register Game of Thrones-inspired songs

Coldplay’s new music has been inspired by ‘Game of Thrones’.

The British band, fronted by Chris Martin, have registered several new tracks on music database ASCAP, with three of the song titles referencing the HBO fantasy drama.

Songs placed on the database include ‘Rastafarian Targaryen’, ‘Red Wedding’ and ‘I’m A Real B*****d’, while other titles not relate to the series include ‘Closer To Home’ and ‘Still Going Strong’.

However, ‘Game of Thrones’ isn’t the only fantasy influencing the group – which also features Jonny Buckland, Guy Berryman and Will Champion – as their final new song has been named ‘Voldemort’, after the evil wizard in the ‘Harry Potter’ series.

The update comes five months after the ‘Paradise’ hitmakers revealed they were in the middle of making their seventh album titled ‘A Head Full of Dreams’.

In an interview at the time, Chris Martin – who is currently dating ‘The Hunger Games’ actress Jennifer Lawrence – compared the record to the "last Harry Potter book" as it would be "the completion of something," hinting it could be the band’s final album.

He said at the time: "It’s our seventh thing and the way we look at it is like the last Harry Potter book or something. Not to say there might not be another thing one day but this is the completion of something.

"It was great to go from ‘Ghost Stories’ to go right back into the studio and now we’re making things that sound different. I have to think of it as the final thing we’re doing otherwise we wouldn’t put everything into it. Then we will go on tour."
