Clueless remake ‘in the works’

A ‘Clueless’ remake is in the works.
‘Girls Trip’ writer Tracy Oliver is said to be in line to produce the motion picture, and ‘Glow’ scribe Marquita Robinson looks set to write the script for the film.
According to Deadline, it’s not yet known whether older characters from the 1995 original – which starred the likes of Alicia Silverstone and Paul Rudd – will feature in the new movie.
The motion picture is said to still be in the early stages of development, so it’s not known if the flick will be a modern version of the 90s coming-of-age romantic-comedy, which is based loosely on Jane Austen’s 1815 novel ‘Emma’.
The film told the story of rich teen Cher Horowitz – played by Silverstone – who attempts to find love while living with her bad-tempered father Mel Horowitz (Dan Hedaya).
Cher also boosts the popularity of fellow student Tai Frasier, who was played by the late Brittany Murphy, who starred in the movie alongside Breckin Meyer, Jeremy Sisto, and Stacey Dash.
Should Silverstone appear in the forthcoming film then she may be able to save the wardrobe department some money after recently admitting she took "so many costumes" home from the set of the original movie.
Speaking about her new show, TV comedy series ‘American Woman’, she recently said: "Judy Gelman is our wardrobe designer and she is brilliant.
"I wore a dress that [British model] Twiggy wore, actually, which was very exciting … But Judy and I would look through the wardrobe and I’d be like ‘Can I have that one?’ And I took it home and sure enough, there’s no way I can wear it in real life.
"And I did this on ‘Clueless’, I took so many costumes home. But, you know, the knee-highs with the [Mary Janes] in [the] normal world really doesn’t quite work."
