Clean Bandit’s second album coming in 2018

Clean Bandit will release their second album in 2018.
The ‘Rather Be’ hitmakers are set to drop the highly anticipated follow-up to 2014’s debut record ‘New Eyes’, and they have confirmed plans for a new LP "early next year" while explaining the reason behind such a long gap between the two.
Speaking to Fault magazine, bassist and saxophone player Jack Patterson said: "It just takes us so much longer to create each piece of music. But our second one is nearly done – hopefully early next year."
Meanwhile, cellist and vocalist Grace Chatto revealed that the upcoming album will be "more serious" than their first, but it’ll still have a "dancey" sound for fans to enjoy.
She added: "I think the first album was a lot more light-hearted. While our second album, with the lyrics anyway, are more serious. Some of them are about breaking up, like ‘I Miss You’ and ‘Tears’, which will both be on the album. The music is still quite dancey."
It comes after the ‘Rockabye’ group – completed by drummer Luke Patterson – revealed they have written a song specifically for One Direction star Harry Styles.
Speaking to the Daily Star newspaper, Grace recently said: "We really want Harry Styles to sing one of the songs that we’ve got. I’ve been trying to get in contact with him, but it’s hard."
Recent single ‘I Miss You’ was recorded with American singer Julia Michaels, who joins a long list of acclaimed female vocalists who have worked with the dance band, such as Jess Glynne, Louisa Johnson, Zara Larsson and Anne-Marie.
Although it seems as though Clean Bandit prefer to work with women, Grace insists they have recorded lots of music with male singers, people just haven’t heard them yet.
She explained: "We actually have made a few songs with male singers. We have one with Rhodes, with Elton John and Gallant, who is incredible.
"I might try to put those songs together, release all the boy songs before the album because they are all a bit more leftfield."
