Classic Coronation Street and Emmerdale episodes airing on ITV Hub

Classic episodes of ‘Coronation Street’ and ‘Emmerdale’ are coming to the ITV Hub.
Soap bosses are treating viewers during the coronavirus pandemic, and from this week fan favourite episodes from both shows will be available via the on demand platform.
Both programmes will be turning the clocks back to 1995 for the first batch, with ‘Corrie’ viewers taken to July that year.
According to ITV, the vintage episodes will give "soap fans a trip down memory lane and a chance to relive some of soapland’s most iconic characters".
This means viewers will be able to relive many memorable characters including Bet Lynch (Julie Goodyear), Mavis Wilton (Thelma BArlow), Alec Gilroy (Roy Barraclough), Mike Baldwin (Johnny Briggs) and Raquel Wolstenhulme (Sarah Lancashire).
Meanwhile, treasures from the ‘Emmerdale’ archive will be taken from December of the same year.
This will treat fans to a nostalgia trip with Chris Tate’s (Peter Amory) wedding to Rachel Hughes (Glenda McKay), and Kim Tate’s (Claire King) affair with Dave Glover (Ian Kesley).
The classic episodes will appear every weekday, while also airing daily on ITV3.
Furthermore, there will be a new collection of archive episodes also set to air on BritBox from May 14.
The move comes after ITV’s head of studios Kevin Lygo recently revealed both shows will run out of episodes in the coming weeks.
While ‘Emmerdale’ will stay on screens until the end of May, whilst ‘Corrie’ has enough instalments to remain on air until the end of June.
Both programmes have cut down on the number of episodes screened weekly due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, which has forced filming on both programmes to be suspended.
‘Coronation Street’ and ‘Emmerdale’ have been broadcasting three episodes a week compared to the usual six to keep to stay on air longer during the pandemic.
