Claire Sweeney has given birth to a baby boy.
The 42-year-old presenter and her former fiancé Daniel Riley welcomed their son into the world on Monday (29.09.14) and though the former ‘Brookside’ star isn’t getting much sleep, she is thrilled with the new arrival.
Her representative told MailOnline: "Claire has given birth to a baby boy via C-section at the Catherine Suite in Liverpool Women’s Hospital. He was born at 1.58pm on September 29th."
And Claire added: "My baby is beautiful and has me awake every hour breast-feeding."
Claire – who split from Daniel late last year a few weeks before finding out she was pregnant – will stay in hospital with her baby until tomorrow (02.10.14).
Her manager said: "Claire plans to stay in hospital until tomorrow so she and Daniel can rest and enjoy their newborn baby in private."
Though the former couple haven’t yet revealed the name of their baby, the actress – who has experienced two miscarriages – previously said she was thinking of calling him Gabriel.
She said: "Finding out I was pregnant was a gorgeous shock – it truly shows that God works in mysterious ways and I think it was just meant to be.
"Actually, I always thought I’d have a little girl, so that was another surprise but a lovely one. I’ve thought about calling him Gabriel, because he’s my little angel sent from heaven."
