Ciara: I’ve ’embraced’ my insecurities

Ciara has learned to "embrace" her insecurities.
The 31-year-old singer has admitted that at a younger age she never wanted to be "expressive" because she was "worried" what people might say, but says as she has gotten older she’s come to terms with the "unique things" that make her who she is.
She told Glamour magazine: "Flaws are embraced rather than frowned upon. It’s this time of realness. Sometimes it gets too real too. I do think we are living in a more diverse and expressive world.
"As I got older, I learned to embrace those unique things. The insecurities don’t go away, you know, when you’re a young woman you’re still discovering your body and yourself and the world.
"And I didn’t used to be as expressive because I worried what people would say. Now I’m like you know what, I am who I am, take it or leave it, but I’m good with me."
The ‘I Bet’ hitmaker – who is currently expecting a baby with her American football star husband Russell Wilson – says she relies heavily on her family for help, and recently claimed they were the "best support system".
She said previously: "I’m very blessed with having the best support system that I could ever ask for or every dream of.
"My husband is pretty awesome… You see Russell playing on the field; he’s that same person at home. I think even cooler! He’s an awesome support system to me and best friend so that makes a world of difference."
And Ciara – who also shares two-year-old son Future Zahir with her ex-partner Future – says her busy schedule makes her feel "like Superwoman."
She said: "It is definitely eventful while traveling and doing interviews while being pregnant. But honestly, I feel the most empowered by being able to do this. I feel like Superwoman, honestly!"
