Church where Duchess Catherine was baptised put up for sale

The church where Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge was baptised has been put up for sale.
The 35-year-old royal was baptised at St Andrew’s Church in Bradfield – but the Grade II listed building has now been put up for sale for £500,000.
Agents Kempton Carr Croft – who have been marketing the building – has clarified that the sale price is for the building alone and not the surrounding churchyard.
The church has been closed since 2014, due to a range of different factors, including a falling number of worshippers and spiralling repair costs.
A spokesman for The Diocese of Oxford said, according to getreading.com: "St Andrew’s Church in Bradfield will be advertised as for sale as part of the process of exploring the future of the building.
"Worship stopped there in 2014 because of the high cost of maintenance and a falling congregation, with plans for a new parish church on the site of St Peter’s Church in Bradfield Southend.
"Any money from the sale of the site would be ring-fenced for Christian ministry in Bradfield."
St Andrew’s Church is situated in the grounds of Bradfield College and Paddy Burrowes, the bursar of the academic institution, revealed the college is currently developing a 25-year plan for its ambition.
Burrowes revealed the college has not yet ruled out the prospect of including the church as part of their long-term plan for the site.
He said: "We are and have been engaged in ongoing dialogue with the diocese about St Andrew’s and its potential for future use by Bradfield College."
