Christopher Walken credits mum for career

Christopher Walken wouldn’t be an actor if it wasn’t for his mother.
The ‘Jungle Book’ star has admitted that without his mum sending him off to do showbusiness at a young age he’d probably not be a Hollywood star now.
He said: "I don’t think I would be an actor if my mother hadn’t put me in showbusiness as a kid. I got to about 18 and I thought, ‘What are you going to do for the rest of your life?’ There was really only one thing I was equipped to do. So that’s what I did."
After more than 50 years in the industry, the 73-year-old actor admits that he does nothing else with his time other than his job because it is the "most interesting" part of his life.
He told Empire magazine: "I don’t do anything else. I don’t have kids. I don’t like to travel. I don’t have hobbies. I don’t play sports – I don’t play tennis or golf or anything. Going to work is the most interesting thing I do, so I try to do it as much as I can. I’ve done a lot of jobs I maybe might have been better off doing; I’ve never ever been very selective. It’s not to make a living, it’s to have something to do, you know? To go somewhere and to be with people."
