Christine and Paddy McGuinness ‘struggling’ with children during coronavirus pandemic

Christine and Paddy McGuinness are "struggling" with their children during the coronavirus pandemic.
The model and ‘Take Me Out’ host – whose daughter Felicity, three, and six-year-old twins Leo and Penelope have all been diagnosed with autism – are trying to keep their kids calm and entertained as people across the UK have been told to stay inside unless absolutely necessary due to the ongoing health crisis.
Appearing via a video on link ITV’s ‘This Morning’, Christine said: "It’s really, really difficult, honestly. Online, we try to keep it really positive, fun, but at home we are struggling.
"This has been so difficult this week, trying to explain to the children that we’ve got to stay indoors and we can’t go out, when we’ve spent years and years encouraging our children to go to places and go out at the weekend. Now, we tell them to stay in and they are struggling."
The 31-year-old star admitted she is concerned about what impact the sudden change of lifestyle will have on her children.
Meanwhile, Christine opened up on "multitasking" as a parent, and joked she’s used to taking on different roles for her family.
She added: "I think that’s just being a mum. We are expects at multitasking. Right now, I’ve become a teacher this week, I’m usually taxi, a mum, a cooker at home. That’s what we’re good at, so I use that time to get on my bike."
She also revealed how she and her husband Paddy are coping with staying home together, and she described married co-hosts Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford as inspirations during their interview.
She said: "Honestly, you two are so inspirational, the amount of time you spend together. This is new for me, we never spend this amount of time together. We’ve doing alright! We have our moments, but we’re doing OK."
