Christina Aguilera wanted her new daughter’s name to reflect "her softer side."
The ‘Your Body’ hitmaker, who already has six-year-old son Max with ex-husband Jordan Bratman, welcomed her baby girl, Summer Rain Rutler, into the world in Los Angeles on Saturday (16.08.14) with fiancé Matthew Rutler and decided to name the tot after her favourite time of year.
A friend close to ‘The Voice’ USA mentor told E! News: "Christina wanted something different and unique for the baby’s name. She loves how Summer Rain Rutler flows together and thinks summer is an amazing time of the year. She has always been a more expressive person and a little bohemian who is inspired by words and daily life."
The source added: "Lately, she has been all about being natural and she’s been showing her softer side. Getting so into yoga really kick started her hippie side. She loves it!"
Christina’s son has already formed a close bond with his new sister.
The insider said: "Max is really excited about being a big brother and they constantly have tried to make him feel included. He’s excited and not too jealous and is already helping mommy out. All is going great!"
The blonde beauty, 33, has also been spoiling her newborn, who has a wardrobe "to die for."
