Chris Ramsey donates Strictly Come Dancing shoes to charity

Chris Ramsey has donated a pair of shoes he wore during ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ to a charity auction.
The 33-year-old comedian has given away the custom trainers he wore during the episode filmed at the Blackpool Tower Ballroom to raise money for the Heart of the House Appeal, which supports The Customs House Trust which gives young people living in South Tyneside in North East England access to the arts.
Chris took to Twitter to urge his followers and fans to bid for the footwear.
He wrote: "It’s my blinged up Adidas Gazelles that I wore when I opened the show in Blackpool. Get involved people!"
The 33-year-old comic reached the semi-finals of ‘Strictly’ with dance partner Karen Hauer and will now be donating some memorabilia.
Ray Spencer – Executive Director of The Customs House which is in its 25th year – said: "Chris has already given us so much, entertaining us week after week during his amazing ‘Strictly’ run, but now he’s giving us a boost of a different kind by helping us raise funds for the Heart of the House Appeal.
"We know there are plenty of fans who would love to get their hands on Chris ‘Twinkle Toes’ Ramsey’s dancing shoes, so why not enter the raffle, give to a great cause and hopefully you’ll waltz off with a piece of magical Strictly memorabilia."
Chris narrowly missed out on a place in the ‘Strictly’ final but insisted he was "very proud" of how well he did in the ballroom competition with his professional partner Karen Clifton.
Speaking after his elimination, he said: "Wow, I am very proud of myself. I never ever thought I would make it past week two, genuinely I had no expectations whatsoever, I am astounded and I’ve got to thank Karen, she is just amazing and is just amazing and so patient it’s crazy! She is awesome. I had sleepless nights in the build up and there is no-one else who can have made it what it has been."
