Chris Kamara: Ninja Warrior UK is finished

Chris Kamara says ‘Ninja Warrior UK’ is "finished".

The TV presenter has insisted the show will not be revived by ITV, despite re-runs of the series proving to be popular amid the coronavirus lockdown.

During an Instagram Live with Keith Lemon, Chris conceded: "’Ninja Warrior’ is finished, I’m afraid."

In response, Keith asked: "Everybody loves ‘Ninja Warrior’, don’t they?"

And the retired sportsman joked: "Yeah they do, apart from one person – the person who commissions it. Am I allowed to say that?"

‘Ninja Warrior UK’ first aired on ITV in 2015 and was based on the Japanese game show ‘Sasuke’.

The show ran for five series, with Chris presenting alongside Ben Shephard and Rochelle Humes.

During the show’s run, Rochelle insisted she wouldn’t test herself against the obstacle course.

She shared: "Let me just tell you my story because I’m sticking to this. The first series Ben had a go and I was like, ‘Oh, no, I don’t want to, I’m a bit scared, everyone’s looking.’

"By the second I was like, I’d actually just like to get all my friends over and have a big pyjama party and not be on the telly but just have a go.

"So I was all up for it. And Ben sort of injured himself the first year – fine, but then they were like do you know what if actually you did injure yourself and you weren’t fit enough to work, we don’t want you to do it, so … sweet!

"That actually worked out quite well for me."
