Chris Hughes is "gutted" after being dumped by Olivia Attwood.
The blonde beauty – who met and fell in love with Chris during their stay in the ‘Love Island’ villa last summer – has called time on their seven-month romance following a series of rows and Chris is said to be devastated.
A source told Mirror Online: "He’s gutted as he really thought Olivia might be the one. He phoned her at the weekend to discuss things and they decided they should end the relationship. He’s obviously hurt, but knows it’s for the best in the long term."
However, friends of Olivia maintain she only decided to end her relationship with the 25-year-old heartthrob after he dumped her via text following a row and then begged for her back.
A source told The Sun Online: "Olivia has been pushed to the limit by Chris. She’s spent months putting up with him and his bad behaviour.
"He ended it by text, but then begged Olivia to forgive him, as he has done before, but this time she has no interest. She’s done with him. She’s stuck by him throughout everything – his feud with Katie Price and even the incident in the nightclub where he was seen appearing to kiss another woman, but she is fed up now and feels completely used by him. She’s told him it’s all over and that’s it."
Taking to her Twitter account following the split, Olivia shared a cryptic message before deleting it, which read: "I think one of the worst feelings in life is being angry at yourself.
"Angry for the way I tried to see the good in someone when no one else did. I fell for the lies. I believed I was more then just a job [sic]."
The turbulent pair – who have been on and off throughout their whole relationship – hit the rocks a few days ago when it was reported that Olivia, 26, had been sending flirty messages to her ex-boyfriend Bradley Dack via social media.
Despite being on and off, it was claimed they couldn’t end their relationship fully because they were shooting their reality TV show ‘Crackin’ On’ together.
An insider said at the time: "They’re still having rows and are very on and off. But, at the moment, they can’t end things because they have to do this TV show together."
