Children in Need’s all-star covers album featuring Olivia Colman and Jim Broadbent

Olivia Colman and Jim Broadbent are among the stars who have volunteered for ‘Children in Need: Got It Covered’.
The exciting new project will see the Academy Award-winning star teaming up with the ‘Game of Thrones’ actor and a host of other big names to put together an album of cover songs in aid of the annual charity telethon.
They will be joined by Helena Bonham Carter, Luke Evans, Suranne Jones, Adrian Lester, Himesh Patel, and Shaun Dooley.
A former Time Lord will be working with the current Doctor, with David Tennant signing up for the special project alongside current ‘Doctor Who’ star Jodie Whittaker.
A special 60-minute programme will follow the whole recording process with behind-the-scenes action from the challenges of laying down the tracks – each one handpicked by one of the actors – at Rak and Abbey Road Studios.
Vocal coach Mark De-Lisser will be guiding the stars with their songs, while the show will also see a selection of the famous faces visiting projects to see the difference the charity makes to young lives.
Mel Balac, executive producer and creative director at BBC Studios, said: "Many of the actors have said trying to nail the role of recording artist has been their most challenging role yet.
"The personally curated playlist that is being created in aid of Pudsey will be big on musical surprises and laughs, while highlighting the fantastic charities and causes ‘BBC Children in Need’ supports. Bring on the drama!"
Kate Phillips, controller of entertainment commissioning for the BBC, added: "I’m delighted and so impressed by the outstanding array of actors who have agreed to step out of their comfort zones and help raise money for ‘BBC Children in Need’.
"Every year we are truly inspired by the extraordinary support we receive from thousands of people and we know this year will be no exception."
