Cheryl Tweedy’s ex-husband Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini is still single.
The former Girls Aloud singer may have moved on with Liam Payne and have 13-month-old son Bear with him, but the French restaurateur has admitted he’s still "looking for the one" following their divorce in 2016.
Speaking on ‘Good Morning Britain’ on Friday (11.05.18), Jean-Bernard – who is currently at Cannes Film Festival – said via video link: "I’ve been in Cannes for 15 years. I’ve come to Cannes with three ex-girlfriends, so it just goes into the same box. There’s nothing weird. Another year with a future girlfriend, and hopefully this one will be the right one. Not yet. Right now, after quite a while and solving a lot of personal problems, I’m in a very happy place and open now to start something new."
The hunk – who is also known simply as JB – split from the 34-year-old star after just 18 months of marriage at the end of 2015 and has admitted their relationship was put under unnecessary stress because he couldn’t deal with being in the limelight.
He said recently: "I’ve lost a lot. I don’t have my parents, I don’t have a girlfriend. I’m alone now. I married someone who was famous, I was thrust into this mad world – I didn’t like it. There was really awful things said about me, my family, but I survived it."
And, although he’s pleased Cheryl is happy with the former One Direction singer, the 36-year-old businessman has admitted he doesn’t give her much thought anymore because he’s so devoted to his restaurant and building his empire in France.
He said: "If someone I used to be with goes on to have another boyfriend or have children, that’s good for them, I wish them well – but I’m not going to think about it. When I’m not with someone I don’t think about them. Right now I’m focused on work."
