Charlie Simpson to form band with brothers

Charlie Simpson is forming a band with his two brothers.

The 29-year-old musician and his musical older siblings Edd and Will intend to release an album together under the name Once Upon A Dead Man and have already started writing songs as a trio.

Charlie is very excited about making music with his brothers because the three of them are so close.

He told BANG Showbiz: "My two brothers are in bands and we’ve been talking about doing a project together called Once Upon A Dead Man. We’re just starting to write songs, although it’s probably a couple of years away.

"I think that it’s going to be a great thing to do. My brothers were the best men at my wedding and we’re the best of friends and we’ve always wanted to do a project together so that will be really exciting.

"They’re my two older brothers. One of them is in a band called Union Sound Set, they’ve just releases their second record. And my other brother Will was in a band called Brigade and he’s now performing in a new band called More Dangerous Animals that do a lot of rock stuff.

"It’s amazing to be able share my love of music with my brothers, when we all go home all we ever talk about is music. It’s a great thing to be able to share that with your brothers, we’re so close."

Charlie – who has just released his second solo album ‘Long Road Home’ – says he and his brothers want to make an electronic-sounding LP but they are still yet to finalise their sound.

The former Busted star – who is playing The Roundhouse in London on October 14 – explained: "We’re toying with it being an electronic record because we don’t want to make something that sounds like anything we’ve done before individually. If you’ve heard the ‘Drive’ soundtrack I want it to be something like that, and we’re all big fans of The Postal Service.

"We want it to be something that’s melodic but that has an electronic element to it. We haven’t quite figured it out yet, we’ve written two songs so far that I think are really cool but it’s a case of us trying to find out what the sound is going to be."
