Charlie Puth announces ‘intimate’ Blue Note jazz Club mini residency

Charlie Puth is performing “intimate” shows for the first time in 10 years.

The four-time Grammys nominee has announced a limited mini-residency called Whatever’s Clever! at the Blue Note Jazz Club in New York and Los Angeles.

Captioning a video that was shared to his Instagram account on Tuesday (09.09.25), Charlie said: “I’m so excited to announce the Whatever’s Clever! Residency at @bluenotenyc and @bluenotelosangeles.

This is the most intimate way I could think of showing what I’ve been working on!!!”

And in the video, the Attention hitmaker teased that people will hear some new songs.

He said: “I started my career playing to a couple hundred people a night, and it’s been a while since I’ve done it, but I want to do it again.

“It’s going to be me and the band, and we’re going to play a lot of music just like in the beginning.

“Some songs you already know, and some songs you haven’t heard yet.”

Charlie shared his shows will start in New York on September 25, before going to Los Angeles on October 16.

He added: “It’s going to start off in New York City at the Blue Note, September 25 through September 28, and the Blue Note Los Angeles, October 16 through October 19.

“Two shows a night. 2015 was the last time I did a show like this, so I’m so excited to be doing this again.

“I can’t wait to see you all!”

Presale tickets for Charlie’s Whatever’s Clever! shows begins on Wednesday (10.09.25) at 10am, and fans can sign up at WhateversClever.world.

The general sale kicks off on Friday at 10am.

The We Don’t Talk Anymore singer said Jazz was the inspiration behind his second studio album, Voicenotes, which was released in 2018.

He told People: “These ‘romantic’ songs weren’t what I was thinking at the time.

“It wasn’t truly what my personality was and what I was surrounding myself with. It wasn’t what I was going through. I wasn’t in love, and that’s why these songs didn’t sound right; it took some acting to perform those songs.

“I was unapologetically myself in this album. I was just tired of faking it. I was really happy at the success of Attention because it was my personality in a song.

“Voicenotes is more me because it’s inspired by the music I grew up listening to: jazz and R+B.”
