Chappell Roan to be celebrated at Resonator Awards

Chappell Roan will be celebrated at the Resonator Awards during Grammy Week.

The 27-year-old star will receive the Harmonizer Award – which is awarded to a creator who uses music to leverage social change – at the ceremony from Heart’s Nancy Wilson.

Roger Davies, music manager to Cher, Sade, Tina Turner, Janet Jackson and Pink, will receive the Transformer Award, for his work championing artists and being a voice for positive change in the industry.

They will join previously announced winners including Chaka Khan, Haim, St. Vincent and Amy Allen.

Fred Armisen will host the second annual Resonator Awards, presented by We Are Moving the Needle, which was founded by Grammy award-winning engineer Emily Lazar.

She said: “This is more than a celebration. This is an historic moment where we will shine a light on a set of phenomenal creators – not because they are women, but because they are powerful producers, engineers, and artists whose work from behind the console has inspired us all. Actions speak louder than words, and this moment not only increases visibility, access, and representation, it inspires the next generation of talent to break barriers and reinvent the future of the industry.”

Performers at the ceremony will include Flo, Greg Kurstin, Jim James, Lucius, Sia, Thundercat, and Victoria Canal, plus a DJ set by U.S. Girls.

There will be a Chaka Khan tribute featuring Grace Bowers, Hayley Williams, Lalah Hathaway, Maggie Rogers and more.

Presenters will include Tony Berg, Rostam, Olivia Rodrigo, Laufey, Jason Isbell, Anderson .Paak, Addison Rae and Aaron Dessner.

In the lead-up to the awards, We Are Moving The Needle will also host a curated auction featuring music memorabilia with all proceeds going to its scholarship fund to support opportunities for women in music.

The auction will offer instruments signed by Boygenius, Haim, Remi Wolf, and more.
