Channing Tatum is learning how to be a star.
The 34-year-old hunk wasn’t prepared for his career to take off in the trajectory it has and as well as always trying to become a better actor he is getting to grips with every other thing that comes with his profession.
In an interview with The Independent newspaper, Channing said: "I don’t know how to do this. Every single part is something different, and hopefully you’re doing something different so it’s not derivative of something you’ve done."
Channing became a Hollywood A-lister following the huge box office success of ‘Magic Mike’, which he made with director Steven Soderbergh.
The film was based on his own experiences working as a male stripper in a Florida club after he graduated high school and the actor is still in shock it took $167 million worldwide.
Channing said: "We made that in a different way than most people do movies. We (me and Steven) talked about ‘Magic Mike’ and we talked about my past and how I’d like to make it into a movie … He was like, ‘I want to do it. I have this time slot available. But we’re going to finance it, your buddy (Reid Carolin) is going to write it – and that’s how it has to happen.’ And I was like, ‘Done!’ I had no idea what that even meant! We just did it."
Channing – who is married to actress Jenna Dewan-Tatum – is being tipped for awards success for his latest role as Olympic gold medal-winning wrestler Mark Schultz in drama ‘Foxcatcher’.
