Chad Kroeger is very amused by rumours his marriage to Avril Lavigne is on the rocks.
The Nickelback frontman, who skipped the ‘Hello Kitty’ hitmaker’s 30th birthday bash in September, insists they are still together, but admits even their families were worried about the status of their relationship.
The 39-year-old rocker said: "You know my dad calls me up and he’s just like, ‘I haven’t slept in two days, what’s going on?’ I’m like, ‘Dad you’re not buying all this c**p are you?’ You know, I get to hear all the rumour mill stuff. So it’s, it’s…I find it very amusing."
Chad, who married Avril in July 2013, also laughed off photographs of him not wearing his wedding ring in Los Angeles recently.
He said: "You know what? They come off. And they go back on and then come off and then go back on. What does that mean?"
He also told ‘ET Canada’ that being famous feels like being in high school.
He said: "All that stuff that people say behind each other’s backs is minuscule, pales in comparison to the world of, you know, celebrity or being married to a celebrity. That’s high school multiplied exponentially. It’s ridiculous."
Chad’s comments come just days after a source claimed "things still aren’t good" between him and Avril, but they are being encouraged by friends to try to work things out.
The insider close to the Canadian beauty, who was previously married to Deryck Whibley, added: "Also, she and Chad haven’t been married that long so her friends want her to make sure she’s given it every chance before pulling the plug."
