Celine Dion ‘chased’ after husband’s dead body

Celine Dion "chased the truck" carrying her late husband after it came to take away his body shortly after his death.
The ‘Because You Loved Me’ hitmaker struggled to come to terms with the passing of her spouse René Angélil, who died four months ago from throat cancer aged 73, and found herself unintentionally clinging on to his lifeless body.
She explained: "When they [medics] took [his body] away, I chased the truck a little, like it was my kids going to school for the first day. It’s been a long, long journey. We were living in hope, knowing that there’s no hope."
However, although she didn’t want to believe René had been taken at first, she’s convinced his tragic passing helped her deal with the loss of her brother Daniel, who sadly died two days later from brain, throat, and tongue cancer.
She said: "René escorted my brother. He took him under his wings, and he said, ‘You know, I’ll take good care of him.’ "
The 48-year-old beauty told her 15-year-old son René-Charles Jr. about his father’s death almost immediately afterwards but waited a few days to tell their five-year-old fraternal twins Eddy and Nelson because she wanted to do something special that would help them understand better.
The talented singer took inspiration from the Pixar movie ‘Up’ by throwing a party with glitter and balloons to inform the youngsters that "papa" had gone "up."
Speaking to PEOPLE magazine, she said: "It’s the thing I’m most proud of. I did not want to relate the passing to doctors and have them be afraid."
Meanwhile, Celine previously admitted she always feels René, whom she was married to for 21 years, is there on stage with her when she performs, despite his passing.
She said: "Through my life I only had eyes for my husband, who sat out here night after night. People thought that I was looking at him but I didn’t need to because every time I closed my eyes, I felt René on stage with me – whether he was seated in his seat right there, in the balcony, backstage, or at home with the kids. He’s always been on stage with me and nothing will ever change that."
