Catherine Zeta-Jones returning to TV in Ryan Murphy’s Feud!

Catherine Zeta-Jones is returning to TV after landing a role in Ryan Murphy’s new show ‘Feud!’.
The 46-year-old actress is to play Olivia de Havilland in the FX eight-episode series and Murphy couldn’t be happier to have secured the services of the Academy Award winner – who received the Best Supporting Actress Oscar for her performance as Velma Kelly 2002 musical movie ‘Chicago’.
Taking to Twitter to announce her casting, Murphy posted: "Thrilled that Oscar-winner Catherine Zeta-Jones is joining FEUD as Oscar-winner Olivia de Havilland (sic)".
Catherine – who is married to Michael Douglas – will star alongside Jessica Lange as Joan Crawford and Susan Sarandon as Bette Davis in the programme which will focus on the rivalry between the two ‘Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?’ stars which existed beforehand and intensified when they made the movie.
The show is set to air in 2017 and will also feature Alfred Molina as ‘Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?’ director Robert Aldrich, Stanley Tucci as Warner Bros. co-founder Jack Warner and Judy Davis as Hollywood gossip columnist Hedda Hopper.
The casting marks Catherine’s first ongoing TV role since 1996 when she appeared in CB mini-series ‘Titanic’.
She shot to prominence in acclaimed early 90s British drama/comedy ‘The Darling Buds of May’ – which also starred Sir David Jason and Pam Ferris.
Catherine – who has two children, son Dylan, 16, and daughter Carys, 13, with Michael – was last seen on the big screen earlier this year in ‘Dad’s Army’, a big screen adaptation of the classic World War II set BBC sitcom which ran from 1968 until 1977.
