Caterina Murino: Tom Hiddleston is likely pick for James Bond

Caterina Murino thinks Tom Hiddleston is the likely replacement for Daniel Craig as James Bond.
The former Bond girl – who starred as Solange opposite Craig in his first outing as the suave spy in ‘Casino Royale’ – says producer Barbara Broccoli will "pick" a theatre trained actor like ‘The Night Manager’ star.
She said: "I’m a huge fan of Tom’s work. I believe Barbara will pick someone like that who has a theatre background."
The brunette beauty understands why Craig, 48, reportedly turned down a £68 million deal to return to the franchise because the role is "hugely stressful".
She told the Sunday People: "It’s hugely stressful being Bond. There’s a lot of money involved, so that also brought more tension – and a lot of that tension was on Daniel. After a while those actors don’t really think too much about the money. I can understand why Daniel would not want to return. Bringing back the same role again can be complicated. You study for the role, then there’s six months of shooting. It’s a very tiring movie. And Daniel is not just an actor, he’s a human being too."
Meanwhile, Sam Mendes recently revealed he won’t direct any more James Bond movies and is adamant Broccoli will surprise the public when she announces her choice of a new star and director.
He said: "I can guarantee whatever happens with it, it will not be what you expect. That’s what she [producer Barbara Broccoli] has been brilliant at, and that’s how it’ll survive."
