Carrie Underwood was worried face injury would ‘scare’ son

Carrie Underwood was worried her son would be "scared" of her following her fall which left her needing over 40 stitches in her face.
The 35-year-old singer suffered a nasty fall in November which resulted in her breaking her wrist and severely damaging her face, and in her first interview since the terrifying ordeal, she has revealed her biggest concern was how her three-year-old son Isaiah would react.
Speaking on ‘The Bobby Bones Show’ podcast on Thursday (19.04.18), she said: "For a while, I was worried he would be scared of me. But now if I put makeup on, he’s like, ‘Mommy, your boo-boo’s all gone.’"
The ‘Cry Pretty’ singer also gave an interview with Storme Warren on SiriusXM on Thursday, where she revealed more details on how she sustained her injuries.
She said: "I was clumsy and I tripped. I held onto the dog leashes in my left hand and went to catch myself with my right and just missed the step. There’s one lone step. I said if I had fallen anywhere else, I would have been absolutely fine, but it’s just because there was, I went to catch myself and I missed.
"I thought I just busted my lip. Then I walked inside and took the dog leashes off and took my coat off and went to go survey the damage and was like, ‘Oh, no!’ It wasn’t pretty."
Recently, Carrie revealed she was feeling more like herself now that her face has begun to heal and her wrist has been fitted with a metal plate.
In a blog post on her website, she wrote: "First off, physically, I’m doing pretty darn good these days! My wrist is almost back to normal, about 90% there…and the docs say that last 10% will come in time. And my face has been healing pretty nicely as well. I definitely feel more like myself than I have in a while. One of the silver linings for me in this healing process is the time I’ve gotten to spend with Mike and Isaiah. I’ve been calling it "forced relaxation." Sometimes I think things happen in order to make us slow down. (sic)"
