Cardi B sued for $10M by ex-manager

Cardi B is being sued for $10 million by a former manager.
The 25-year-old rapper has been hit with the lawsuit by Shaft – whose real name is Klenord Raphael – who claims that he is responsible for the Instagram star’s transformation to global stardom.
According to TMZ, the music business professional insists he is the one who landed the ‘MotorSport’ hitmaker her first big gig on reality show ‘Love & Hip-Hop’ on VH1 in 2015, and that his contacts of producers and songwriters allowed Cardi – whose real name is Belcalis Almanzar – to release her first hit song ‘Bodak Yellow’.
Shaft also alleges that Cardi accused him of stealing from her and told her fiance Offset and her circle, citing an explicit text he received from her Migos star partner as evidence.
The threatening message, in which Offset calls Shaft a "snake", is said to read: "[U] better stop play acting like u don’t know u taking her sh** from her u a snake. U can’t hide from me N**** and u not bout to play my WIFE."
Cardi’s ex-employee claims that the star’s publicist played a part in turning her against him.
Shaft is said to be "confident" that he will win the legal battle, in which he is seeking $10 million in damages, after the ‘Finesse’ hitmaker cut ties with him once she found fame and sold millions of records.
A representative for Shaft told the gossip website: "Since discovering Cardi B in 2015, Shaft has played an integral role in developing her music career and public image.
"While he is proud of their successful collaborations as she evolved from Instagram influencer to music megastar, Shaft is disappointed by her actions to freeze him out of her career, which are detailed in the complaint.
"Shaft is confident that his lawsuit will validate his conduct and substantiate his legal claims."
