Cara Delevingne encourages people to talk about depression

Cara Delevingne wants people to "speak up" for mental illness.
The 23-year-old model-turned-actress has opened up about why she feels it’s important for people to talk about their issues especially regarding depression, which she’s openly admitted to suffering from in the past.
She told E! News: "Mental illness goes unseen, but hopefully, I don’t want it to be unheard. I want to speak up for it.
"A lot of people I’ve loved in my life suffer from [depression], including myself…One of the main things is talking about it, using your voice."
The ‘Suicide Squad’ actress previously admitted to having a mental breakdown and feeling suicidal and while she felt "lucky" to have her family and friends around her she still couldn’t help but feel like the whole world was against her.
At the time, she said: "I think I pushed myself so far that I got to the point where I had a mental breakdown. I got to the point where I went a bit mad.
I was completely suicidal, I didn’t want to live anymore. I thought that I was completely alone. I also realised how lucky I was, and what a wonderful family and wonderful friends I had, but that didn’t matter. I wanted the world to swallow me up."
The blonde beauty hopes discussing her own battles will encourage others to "to talk about it, too."
