Cara Delevingne drops intense debut songs and bold short film as she launches music career

Cara Delevingne has officially stepped into a new era as a recording artist, releasing her first two singles.

The 33-year-old model and actress has shared I Forgot and Out of My Head, a double release accompanied by a seven‑minute short film directed by Emmy winner Jessica Lee Gagné.

The tracks mark the first preview of Cara’s debut album, due later this summer.

She co‑wrote I Forgot with Trey Campbell and worked with producer BJ Burton –  known for collaborations with Bon Iver, Nine Inch Nails and Charli xcx – to craft a sound that pushes her into darker, more experimental territory. The song layers fragile vocals over jagged distortion and heavy synths, setting the tone for a project that leans into emotional rawness.

The vulnerable lyrics touch on drug and alcohol addiction and mental struggle.

Its companion track, Out of My Head, shifts into a trip‑hop pulse before erupting into drum ’n’ bass.

Gagné’s short film mirrors that sense of disorientation, placing Cara inside a series of staged scenes that repeatedly collapse to reveal the machinery behind them. As the walls fall away, she fights, dances and screams her way through the chaos, blurring the line between performance and reality.

Speaking about her leap into music, Cara – who is recently signed to Warner Music – said the process has been transformative.

She explained: “Music was always that dream I had, but never believed I would get the opportunity to create.

“Writing I Forgot felt like a rebirth for me and Out of My Head was like going to therapy. Everything has felt like it’s led up to this point and I can’t wait for everyone to experience it.”

Cara will take her new material on the road next month as she begins her first run of live shows across Europe, the UK and the US.

The tour opens in Berlin on June 1 and includes dates in Barcelona, London, Paris, Los Angeles and New York, alongside festival appearances at All Things Go NYC and Primavera Sound in Barcelona, Buenos Aires and São Paulo.
