Camila Cabello’s solo LP will be released in January

Camila Cabello has finished her album and named it after herself.
The ‘Havana’ hitmaker originally titled her first solo record since leaving Fifth Harmony as ‘The Hurting, The Healing, The Loving’, but on Tuesday (05.12.17) she took to Instagram to confirm her final title, ‘Camila’, and reveal how making the LP helped her find her "way back" to herself.
Fans who pre-order the release on Thursday (07.12.17) will be given two free songs, ‘Never Be The Same’ and ‘Real Friends’ as an instant grat, with the full album available on January 12, 2018.
Sharing the artwork on Instagram, the 20-year-old beauty captioned the post: "to my Camilizers …. my debut album is finally finished. now i’m trying to steady my heartbeat!!!!!!! thank you for being so patient with me this year, i can’t wait for you to hear what has been the soundtrack to the past year of my life… all of these songs have special memories behind them, and i’m not gonna lie, it feels emotional letting them go, feels like the end of a chapter… i decided to call it by my name, because this is where this chapter in my life ended. it started with somebody else’s story, it ended with me finding my way back to myself.
my album is gonna be available for pre order this Thursday, and i’m putting out two instant grat tracks with it…. one is called never be the same, and one is called real friends.
it’s in your hands January 12 (sic)"
Meanwhile, Camilla recently said she’s felt like she’s had to "prove" to her collaborators that she is a real artist.
The pop star wants her fellow artists to know that she is a great songwriter as well as a singer, and says hitting the studio with the likes of Diplo and Shawn Mendes "taught her a lot".
She said: "I just really wanted to prove to people that I had something to say and that I wasn’t just a singer, that I was an artist, that I had a point of view and knew exactly the song that I wanted to write or the lyrics. The first few weeks were me really wanting to prove that to people and prove to myself to. People I was writing with were like, that’s actually a really great lyric, or that’s a really good idea, or oh yeah we should do that!
"That made me less and less insecure to the point where by the end of it, I feel like the last studio session I went to, I would come in and know exactly what I want and not be afraid to say it. And all of that is just experience and finding confidence in yourself. All the people I worked with were so nice and encouraging. It taught me a lot definitely."
