C4 to launch celeb motorbike stunt show

Channel 4 are to launch a dangerous celebrity motorbike stunt show.
The broadcaster will push boundaries with their forthcoming all-star version of Guy Martin’s ‘Wall of Death Live’, which will see a team of daredevils whizz around a wooden vertical wall on a motorbike, to raise money for Stand Up To Cancer.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "The team are excited that this could be one of the most exciting, most talked-about live TV moments of the year. It’s obviously hugely dangerous but it’s for a really good cause.
"They are currently looking for male and female celebrities to take part, but they obviously need people who have got a valid motorbike licence. If they can get enough people signed up, inside training will commence over the summer.
"It’ll be nail-biting, edge-of-your seat stuff. It’s yet to be formally commissioned but Channel 4 has begun approaching celebrities."
Guy hit the headlines two years ago when he broke the Wall of Death world speed record in 2016 – reaching 78mph in the barrel – during a live broadcast on Channel 4.
The 36-year-old motorcycle racer will be on hand to train the celebrities, while Wall of Death legend Ken Fox and his team will be around to give out some advice.
This isn’t the first time Channel 4 have come up with a risky show idea as they came under fire last year when their winter sports series ‘The Jump’ saw a number of the celebrity competitors end up in hospital with life-changing injuries.
After four series, the programme – which saw celebrities attempt the skeleton, bobsleigh, snowskates, ski cross, and giant slalom – was axed ahead of 2018.
