Britain’s Prince Harry will always be an Army man

Britain’s Prince Harry will always be an Army man.
The 31-year-old royal – who was on tours of duty in Afghanistan in 2008 and 2012 – is glad he is able to give back to his fellow soldiers with the Invictus Games, a Paralympic-style event for wounded soldiers.
Speaking to Nick Knowles in the BBC documentary ‘Invictus: The Road to the Games’, he said: "I spent 10 years in the Army wearing the same uniform as these guys. As far as they are concerned, I’m one of them. You share something very unique … The Invictus Games is an opportunity for me to give something back."
Meanwhile, Prince Harry previously revealed he suffers graphic flashbacks from his time on duty.
He shared: "I described it to someone ages ago as one of those slide shows that go through your mind. If you’ve got a good imagination as well, everything that you see, especially if it’s something that is quite powerful, then that slide is in there. It’s always in there, and if you have dark moments in your life those slides will pop up …
"You know there are images I’ve been lucky enough not to see, but there have been images that I’ve been unfortunate to see, nothing like some of these guys, but, yes, there is a percentage of me being able to relate to exactly what they go through."
However, the Prince also admitted he was "broken" when he was forced to leave active service in 2008 when news of his deployment was leaked.
He said: "Ten years in the Army was the best escape I ever had. I’d done everything I could to get out there. I felt as though I was really achieving something. I felt as though I was part of a team.
"Literally being plucked out, there was an element of me thinking, ‘I’m an officer, I’m leaving my soldiers and it’s not my own decision.’ I was broken."
