Britain’s Prince Harry jokes with Invictus hopefuls

Britain’s Prince Harry joked with Invictus hopefuls as he watched trials for the British team today (29.01.16).

The 31-year-old royal was seen patting the stomach of one of the athletes, appearing to joke about his six pack as he watched the trials at the University of Bath Sports Training Village.

The trials will take place today and across the weekend for the second Invictus Games, which is a Paralympic-style event for wounded soldiers, to be held in Orlando, Florida in May.

Meanwhile, Prince Harry previously spoke of his pleasure that the "United States had taken up the challenge" of hosting this year’s Invictus Games.

He said: "Last year we held the first ever Invictus Games here in London. It was an event which focused the recovery of hundreds of wounded service men and women through support, but more significantly it inspired many hundreds more. The amazing British public embraced these games and its competitors as only they can, thanking them and the armed forces for their dedication and sacrifice.

"For every competitor last September, there are hundreds of others around the world who would benefit from having the same opportunity. I am absolutely delighted to announce that the United States has taken up that challenge and will host the next Invictus Games in Orlando, Florida, from the 8th to the 12th of May 2016."
