Brie Larson to direct Unicorn Store

Brie Larson is set to make her feature length directional debut.
The Oscar-winning actress will take the helm of the upcoming indie picture ‘Unicorn Store’.
Plot details are thin on the ground at the moment, but the film was written by Samantha McIntyre and tells the story of a woman who is forced to move back in with her parents and then receives a strange invitation to a store, which will then test her idea of what it really means to grow up
In addition to her directing duties, Larson will also star in the movie and produce it alongside David Berna, Ruben Fleischer, Paris Kasidokostas-Latsis and Terry Dougas.
Kasidokostas-Latsis and Douglas’ Rhea Films, with their Hercules Film Fund will provide the financing for the film, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
The film was originally set to star Australian actress Rebel Wilson, and be directed by Miguel Arteta but their schedules prevented them from committing to the project.
It isn’t the first time the 26-year-old actress has been behind the camera, as she has previously directed two short films, ‘Weighting’ and ‘The Arm’.
‘The Arm’ in particular was a success, winning the jury prize at the 2012 Sundance film Festival.
Meanwhile, Larson is keeping busy with other acting projects and has been chosen by Marvel to bring Carol Danvers and her alter-ego Captain Marvel to life in the 2019 standalone movie about the superhero.
The actress also has monster movie ‘Kong: Skull Island’ coming out in March 2017 and coming-of-age drama ‘The Glass Castle’ which is yet to be given a release date.
