Brian Friedman: X Factor needed Four of Diamonds’ girl power

Brian Friedman is delighted Four of Diamonds are back on ‘The X Factor’ because the live shows were lacking "girl power".
The 39-year-old dance expert is responsible for choreographing all of the performances ITV viewers see at the weekend and once duo Brooks Way – brothers Josh and Kyle – were axed from the programme he was hoping to see the band return as he was disappointed that Louis Walsh hadn’t taken any girl groups through to the live shows.
Speaking to BANG Showbiz at the Attitude Awards in London on Monday night (10.10.16), he said: "I’m happy with the girls coming back, we needed some femininity and girl power on the show. I felt that they smashed the audition process, I was a little sad when they didn’t make it through to the live shows. But they’re there now and I can’t wait to meet them and create with them."
Bratavio became the first act to be voted off ‘The X Factor’ and Brian was sad to see best friends Bradley Hunt and Ottavio Columbro depart the competition in the first week because they were such fun and better singers than they’ve been given credit for.
He insisted: "It was sad to see Bratavio go because I had fun with them and they were a colourful act. And they sang a lot better than some colourful acts of the past."
Brian – who attended the awards ceremony with his partner Daniel Brown – is very much looking forward to new song theme ‘Louis Loves’ as he has seen the song list and it’s packed with "guilty pleasures".
He spilled: "I have a song list for ‘Louis Loves’! Looking at the history of the show, with all of Louis’ go tos, you know there’s gonna be some Westlife in there, there’s definitely going to be a lot of soppy love songs, it’s going to be a fun show. I’d call it more of a guilty pleasures week, that’s who Louis is."
