Bradley Walsh admits working on Doctor Who is ‘tough’

Bradley Walsh says filming ‘Doctor Who’ is "tough" and tiring because the sci-fi show is such a huge "juggernaut".
The 59-year-old actor plays the Doctor’s companion Graham O’Brien and along with the rest of the TARDIS team is back for the new series.
Shooting the BBC One show second time round, Bradley made a vow to himself to get as much rest as possible because the schedule is relentless.
Speaking to the Daily Mirror newspaper, he said: "It’s like a juggernaut. You must get rest and look after yourself because if you don’t, you come unstuck.
"This ain’t an easy gig. It’s tough and it’s relentless. But we have great fun making it and the end product is nothing but extraordinary."
As his alter ego Graham, Bradley, along with Jodie Whittaker as the Thirteenth Doctor, Tosin Cole as Ryan Sinclair and Mandip Gill as Yasmin Khan, fight an array of different aliens.
Showrunner Chris Chibnall admits his ideas for new monsters come to him in his sleep and are influenced by things that scare him in the real world.
Chris explained: "You think about things that might scare you and things that are going on in the world. Sometimes you wake up and in the middle of the night and go, ‘Oh, that would be a horrible monster if we did that."
The new series of ‘Doctor Who’ will begin on New Year’s Day (01.01.20) with a "huge" episode.
Jodie’s second season as the Time Lord will begin with a two-part storyline, but the air date means that for a second year running there will be no Christmas Day (25.12.19) special.
The team’s adventures through space and time will run over 10 episodes with the other instalments airing in Doctor Who’s traditional Saturday evening teatime slot as opposed to the change to Sunday nights for Series 11.
