Boy George: I try not to focus on the past

Boy George tries not to focus on his past.
The ‘Karma Chameleon’ hitmaker insists he tries to "move on" from the difficult things that have happened in his younger years.
He said: "Everything that happens shapes you and influences what you do, but I don’t tend to focus on the past. Why would I look back? Difficult things inform my writing but – if you want other people to move on – then you have to move on yourself … I try to live in the now – it’s the only sensible time to live."
The 54-year-old singer is looking forward to "building [his] empire" over the next few years.
Speaking in the new issue of FAULT magazine, he added: "[Culture Club] have got a tour coming up in the summer. I’m also doing stuff on my own: I’ve got a tour with Cyndi Lauper in about a month on the East Coast of America. At the moment I’m trying to build my empire, so anything’s possible."
Meanwhile, Boy George previously admitted he has "a lot of regrets".
He explained: "I’ve taken responsibility for the mistakes I’ve made and I’ve always been, ‘Yeah, I can get through this.’ 20 years ago I might have said I don’t have any regrets. I would have been quite brazen about it.
"Whereas now, I would say I have a lot of regrets, but there’s not much I can do about the past. I’m mindful. I think about my behaviour more – I’m a Buddhist and that’s all about consequences. I practice every day."
