Blondie have unveiled High Noon, their first new album in nine years and the last to feature co‑founding drummer Clem Burke, who died in 2025.
The follow-up to 2017’s Pollinator arrives February 26, 2027, with lead single Spectral Eyes – written and originally released as a solo tune by Johnny Marr in 2018 – available now.
Frontwoman Debbie Harry says the new collection captures everything Blondie is known for, while still pushing forward.
She said: “This album is classic Blondie – an amalgamation of all our different influences and eras into something new.
“This music feels grounded in the present, shaped by who we are and how we’re living now.”
Chris Stein kept things characteristically blunt, adding: “It’s been a long, strange ride, and somehow here we are with another Blondie album. I’m not sure what the f*** I’m supposed to say at this point, except that we’re incredibly grateful for all your support over the years.”
Work on High Noon began in New York way back in 2022, with the band building the songs together in the studio with producer John Congleton to keep the energy raw. Once the foundations were down, further production and mixing from David Wrench helped shape the sound.
Longtime visual collaborator Rob Roth has created a new aesthetic for the campaign, blending Blondie’s past with a cinematic, future‑leaning style he describes as living “between the past, present and future.”
The tracklist pulls from every corner of the band’s history – from the downtown‑leaning Heartbreak Kid to Sex Pistol Glen Matlock’s punk‑charged Sleepwalking, plus a modern reimagining of Little Metal Drummer.
Speaking recently, Debbie pushed back at the idea of Blondie continuing without its original core, saying she’s “against the idea” of performing under the name without the “original guys” who shaped the band’s identity.
