Blackpink star Jennie hails ‘amazing’ Doechii

Blackpink star Jennie thinks Doechii is “amazing”.

The 29-year-old singer collaborated with Doechii, 26, on ‘ExtraL’ – which features on ‘Ruby’, her new album – and Jennie has revealed that she relished the experience of working with Doechii.

The singer said on ‘The Jennifer Hudson Show’: “She’s amazing.

“[It was] so much fun working with her. Like, we would add on different details from what we both wanted. We wanted to share and make sure we both felt good about it.

“It was so much fun. I love you, Doechii.”

Jennie’s new record also features the likes of Dua Lipa and Childish Gambino – but Jennie struggles to choose her favourite song on ‘Ruby’.

She said: “I want to say all 15 songs. Some songs are personal, some songs are just amazing to listen to when you’re driving, when you’re out at the party.

“I wanted to create something that was a little bit of everything for my fans to enjoy in every moment.”

Jennie has already enjoyed huge success as a member of Blackpink, and she previously admitted that she suffered from burnout after working “non-stop” for three years.

She told Rolling Stone magazine: “For three years after debuting, we worked non-stop without resting.

“Our sleep systems were breaking down; we weren’t eating properly; I wasn’t hydrating myself – we did that for three to four years, and then started our tour. We were on tour for a year and a half. For a year and a half I didn’t have a home.”

The group’s relentless schedule ultimately took a toll on Jennie’s health and wellbeing.

She shared: “If I touched something I’d have an allergic reaction. I had no immune system at all, but we needed to keep touring.

“When the tour was done, we got some time off to be at home. Back then, I didn’t have time to learn how to take care of myself. I’m a very delicate person.”
